800 MHz Radio (Intro) (back to top)
Students will learn basic functionality of the Portable
Radio. Successful completion of
this course is required to maintain IECS certification. Prerequisites:
None. Course outline includes the following:
- Handling a Portable Radio
- Using the Phonetic Alphabet
- Understanding the MCFRS Fleetmap Templates
- Communicating with Other Personnel in Normal and Emergency Scenarios
Access 2002 (Level 1) (back to top)
Students will learn the basics of creating tables and working within
a database. Prerequisites: Ability to work within the Windows environment
and project need for Access. Course outline includes:
- Using Access XP (Program Overview)
- Creating a Database Using Access Wizards and Templates
- Adding Data
- Building and Applying Queries
- Running Reports
Crystal Reports 10 (Level 1) (back to top)
Students will learn the basics of creating reports from a data source (some identified classes will include the MCFRS Data Warehouse). Prerequisites: Ability to work within the Windows environment (including navigation, text editing and mouse skills) as well as project need for Crystal Reports. Students should also have a basic understanding of database concepts. This workshop lasts approximately 7 hours and typically occurs at COB. Course outline includes:

- Formatting Reports
- Creating and Modifying Charts

Students will expand upon their skills from Crystal Reports (Level 1). Prerequisites: Crystal Reports (Level 1) or equivalent knowledge. This workshop lasts approximately 7 hours and typically occurs at COB.

ePCR (Intro) (back to top)
Students will learn the basics of creating and editing a patient report
within ePCR. Successful completion of this course is required to
maintain IECS certification. Prerequisites: Ability to work within the
Windows environment. Ths course is only required of uniformed personnel at the rank of Captain and below. This workshop is currently only offered in e-learning format but requires an in-person hands-on assessment test. Course outline includes:

Excel 2002 (Level 1) (back to top)
Students will learn the basics of creating and manipulating spreadsheets
within Excel. Prerequisites: Ability to work within the Windows environment.

- Building and Editing Formulas

Students will learn the additional features beyond Excel (Level 1) for
working within Excel workbooks. Prerequisites: Excel (Level 1) or equivalent
knowledge. Course outline includes:

FireApp Intro (back

Students will learn the basics of creating and editing an incident report
within FireApp. Successful completion of this course is required to
maintain IECS certification. Prerequisites: Ability to work within the
Windows environment. This workshops lasts approximately 2 hours and
occurs at PSHQ in the tech training suite. Course outline includes:

Mobile Data Computer (MDC Intro) (back to top)
Students will learn basic functionality of the Mobile Data Computer,
the technology added to FRS apparatus in July 2003. Successful completion
of this course is required to maintain IECS certification. Prerequisites:
None. Course outline includes the following:
- Understanding How MDC works with CAD, Radios and MCFRS
- Using PCR Communication Functions
- Running a Call
- Using CAD Functions

Outlook Desktop. Prerequisites: Ability to work within the Windows environment
and permission to use Outlook Desktop. Course outline includes:
